Payback is a...lot of fun!
Just saw the cover for Midnight Showcase's upcoming Erotica-ahh Digest called Sweet Revenge. My BDSM short story, "Bedridden" is in there, and I'm particularly thrilled because these Digests are available in paperback! Romance Writers Support Katrina Victims
While our nation mourns the devastation left in the wake of Katrina, romance writers, reviewers, and readers are banding together to make a difference.
Here are some ways you can help:
Permission to forward from JoAnn at FAR:
1.Fallen Angel Reviews is coordinating an effort to collect books for children and adults, including coloring books and crayons, to be donated to the people displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
A few weeks ago, my family and I moved to Houston. As you know, many of the people displaced have been evacuated to Houston. Like so many others around the world, I want to do something, anything, to help. After talking to some friends and JoAnn, the co-owner of FAR, we wondered if donations of books and coloring books might be appreciated.
I've made several calls and each time my enquiry was greeted with enthusiasm, and I was given details about where to drop off the items. We will be sorting the books so that they are appropriate to the shelter they are being delivered to. Used books are acceptable, but coloring books should be in new or like-new condition.
We hope to be able to deliver at least the first books within a week, but we will gladly accept donations through September 30th.
If you would like to be involved and contribute either money or books, email me @ jaymi@houston.rr.com or email JoAnn @ joann@fallenangelreviews.com.
2.Jax at Romance Divas is auctioning off a 5 page website design (valued at $1500) and all proceeds from the winning will go to the American Red Cross.
Please email romancedivas @ aol.com to place your bid. The winner will be notified on Monday, September 12, 2005. Note that this does not include web hosting or domain name registration. It is up to the winner to arrange this.
Jax is a truly talented designer. The winner of the auction will not be disappointed.
3.Buy a book by Lucynda Storey. She'll be donating a portion of her royalties to the Red Cross this month. See her website for details.
